On Saturday, October 2nd the 5th Annual T.H.E. Loop will take place. T.H.E. (Touch, Heal, Empower) Loop is a motorcycle ride that raises monies to help cancer patients in local area treatment centers. What continues to make T.H.E. Loop unique is 100% of the pledge monies raised by the event go directly, 100% to cancer patients.

This year the pledges will be divided between The Image Fund at C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, Julie’s Imaging Fund at the Adirondack Medical Center Merrill Oncology Center, The Perfect Fit Boutique at Faxton-St. Lukes’ Healthcare in Utica, and new this year, Rosie’s Love – Friends of Children with Cancer based out of Albany.

Riders leave Mt. Sabattis Pavilion in Long Lake promptly at 11 a.m. and ride through the villages of Newcomb, Minerva, North Creek, Indian Lake, Blue Mtn. Lake and return to the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion around 1:30. There is no registration fee for this event.

Riders and non-riders are encouraged to come to Mt. Sabattis Pavilion before and after the ride. Coffee and light refreshments will be offered between 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Chili, breads and desserts are served after the ride, before the drawings of the pledge, raffle and 50/50.

This year we also have some terrific raffle items: An autographed bandana by 2010 Gold and Silver Nordic Combined Olympian, Bill Demong; autographed Avatar DVD by Sigourney Weaver; autographed High Peaks Hospice benefit 2011 calendar of our area Elegant Ladies; a pair of homemade hanging bear paw snowshoe birch bark lamps are among some of the items. All raffle items are $1.00/ticket. We also have a 50/50 drawing for $1.00/ticket.

Every $20.00 pledged to T.H.E. Loop also gets a chance for an overnight and dinner for two at The North Woods Resort on Fourth Lake in Old Forge, NY.
